We look forward very much to meeting you and welcoming you to our home.
We have three grown-up
children and our youngest daughter (21) left home to
go flatting about a year ago now leaving just us to rattle around in
this large house. She is currently back temporarily staying with us,
but we still have plenty of room and we love having her around. We have
done quite a bit of travelling around NZ and
the world and intend to eventually do a lot more. We love to meet
people when we're away and we love to welcome travellers to our part
of the world. Now that we have spare rooms we are able to do so! Our
own travels have also given us many different accommodation experiences
so we are able to draw on those experiences (the good and the bad) to
provide you with, we sincerely hope, a wonderful stay with us.
We have lived in Bayswater for the last 20 years. Our family grew up in a lovely old house just a few doors down the road and we moved into this house when it was newly built 4 years ago. We are both born and bred New Zealanders and have both lived in Auckland for most of our lives. We've travelled all around NZ, paid many visits to Australia, and made trips to the USA and Britain. Lesley (that's me) has also lived in both Australia and England. We love to take a break most years in a tropical climate on one of the nearby Pacific Islands.
Gordon has worked in the television industry all his working life and runs his own tv production and post-production company. I have worked with him for many years and continue to do so, just recently reducing my hours to pursue other interests including running a small hobby-business with my sister making and selling garden art and, of course, running a homestay! I also do freelance accounts work. We owned a boat for many years and have sailed around the beautiful Hauraki Gulf extensively - Gordon has sailed all around the North Island. We traded in boating for a holiday home north of Auckland a few years ago and we love our relaxing breaks there.
Our tabby cat shares our house - he's very shy but friendly when you get to know him. He won't ever go near our guest rooms.
